We are looking for a Senior Designer with experience of leading innovation and strategy to join our Growth team at Matillion. This role can sit remotely across the UK / Ireland / US or work from our Manchester, UK or Denver, CO HQ.

Your role has scope across all aspects of the customer journey and across our product portfolio. You will be highly experienced with using and applying design thinking and LEAN experimentation within an agile environment. This role is a champion for ensuring that the customer is at the heart of everything we do. 

Teaming up with our Director of Growth and Growth Engineer, you will be responsible for driving outcomes like product-led growth, time-to-value, PLG onboarding, SQLs (sales qualified leads), activation, ARR, retention, and acquisition. 

You will make it quick and easy for our prospects (aka future customers) to experience value so that they turn into happy engaged customers who become advocates of Matillion within their organisation. By collaborating with a variety of teams across Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Sales you’ll identify, recommend, and nurture initiatives to ensure they consistently satisfy human-centered outcomes and ARR. 

You will break through the status quo and create a long-term vision by continually asking two key questions moving forward: what do we know? And how do we know it? We don’t need tactics and hacks, we need sustained growth that compounds over time. 

Reporting into the Director of Product Design, you will grow your T-shaped skill set, taking ownership of research, information architecture, content design, interaction design and visual design and contribute to the development of practices in the Product Design Team. 

What you will be doing

• Lead large scale discovery sessions using & applying design thinking
• Use data, A/B testing, and usability testing to inform and validate direction.
• Understand business priorities and contribute creative solutions to test and optimize KPIs.
• Create stunning visual interfaces applying and contributing patterns and components to the Matillion Design System 
• Plan, prioritize, and create iterative design prototypes
• Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
• You will rely on product insights, research, and feedback to develop your design solutions.

What we are looking for

• Strategic thinker who can evaluate high-leverage opportunities to drive business growth through design
• Experience using & applying LEAN UX and experimentation 
• Proven track record of growing key business metrics through design-led initiatives.
• Portfolio demonstrating proficiency delivering UX that impacts the business
• Strong knowledge of human-centered design, visual design, interaction design
• Passion to stay at the forefront of design, technology and the data landscape 
• Ability to effectively communicate design decisions and concepts so they are understood by non-design roles 
• Experience in research techniques, personas and user story creation
• Proactive, inquisitive and highly collaborative nature
• Led innovation within enterprise business
• Degree / similar in a design, business or computer science related subject
• High proficiency in prototyping ideally in Figma
