The Chicago tech community is amazing for a number of reasons.  One that is not often talked about is its ability to come together for a common cause. Last year I launched the #ChiTechFoodDrive to rally the tech community to help those less fortunate in the Chicagoland area.  With just 10 companies participating in the beta-test and modest goal of 1,000lbs of donations, we were blown away by the results.  In two weeks the #ChiTechFoodDrive collected 3,300lbs of food and $2,200 of cash donations for the Greater Chicago Food Depository which provided more than 9,000 meals to families across the Chicagoland area.

This year we are looking to go big and at least double or triple the amount of meals provided to the Greater Chicago Food Depository this holiday season. That is why I’m very excited to announce the launch the 2nd Annual #ChiTechFoodDrive and a new partnership with Sprig who will be powering on-demand donations! This means there will now be two ways to donate – either at your office or from the comfort of your own home.  First time users of Sprig will receive a $15.00 credit just for downloading the Sprig app and making a food donation anytime from December 1th to December 16th.

If your company is located in Chicago and interested in participating in the #ChiTechFoodDrive, please click on the link below for more information and to register your company.
