Over 100 million Americans can’t borrow at mainstream rates because they’re credit invisible, unscoreable by conventional standards, or rated below prime by traditional risk methods. Armed with powerful insights from open banking data and the leading cashflow underwriting data lake, EDGE is disrupting the risk assessment paradigm that hasn’t changed much since the big credit bureaus were actually giant file drawers. 

Our business is at an inflection point where we’ve proven the platform’s value with early adopters and are rapidly scaling across key verticals. As part of this ramp-up, EDGE is hiring an entrepreneurial and versatile Marketing Director to own and elevate all aspects of our marketing. Building on the foundation we’ve bootstrapped up to now, the right candidate will bring experience across all marketing disciplines in order to define our marketing strategy then maximize ROI. 

You’ll regularly engage with our product and sales leadership to continuously improve EDGE’s go-to-market motion and related deliverables with opportunity for significant impact from day one and rapid advancement as you build a scalable, best-in-class marketing function from scratch. You’ll immediately become our leading authority on all things marketing with an important seat at the table to shape EDGE’s growth

Your responsibilities will include:

  • 30 days – know enough to be dangerous and take on key initiatives already in-flight
  • 60 days – take the reins on full marketing roadmap and extend into new deliverables
  • 90 days – develop comprehensive marketing strategy, extending current marketing roadmap
  • 120 days – refresh brand messaging/positioning and all legacy copy as warranted
  • Identify, develop, and curate channels to drive qualified leads
  • Collaborate with marketing contractors (designer & copywriter) to deliver content while creatively standing up additional marketing infrastructure
  • Update and maintain marketing budget for 2025 and beyond

Requirements:

  • 10+ years B2B marketing experience with products in the range of $50K-$500K ACV
  • Track record with direct attribution to lead generation and revenue
  • Breadth and depth across marketing tools to creatively test and learn with all available options
  • Experience leveraging HubSpot for micro-targeting campaigns
  • Capable of both mocking up then fine-tuning collateral in PowerPoint and Word
  • Perfectionist balanced with realism with a keen eye for both design and copy
  • Entrepreneurial, intellectually curious, and hands-on such that no task is beneath you

The ideal candidate is also:

  • Experienced with alternative data/analytics, SaaS, and/or other consumer credit related services
  • Comfortable engaging with internal and external executives on broader strategy and market intelligence
  • Good enough with Adobe, Paint, or even just PowerPoint to whip up simple graphics in a pinch
  • Willing to take the pen from time to time in creating original copy from scratch
  • Capable of learning Google Ads or resourceful in networking to identity cost-effective partners
  • Located in Chicago where much of the EDGE team is in our West Loop office 2-3 days each week or in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area for proximity to hiring manager
