We're now looking for a UI Artist to join our Level Ex Med Device team to help us advance the practice of medicine through play.

*Note: This is not a UX Designer or Product Designer role, it's for a UI Artist with experience working directly within game engines.

Responsibilities 

• Conceptualize and create compelling UI assets and animations, then implement them directly in-engine using Unity3D and/or Unreal engine.
• Work with artists, programmers, designers, producers, and others to integrate art assets into the game while ensuring technical constraints are met for mobile, tablet, web browsers, conference platforms, and AR/VR/XR devices.
• Collaborate with the team to define and implement innovative UI solutions that serve gameplay intentions and enhance the user experience.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for in-game UI components such as menus, icons, stats screens, and in-game HUD elements.
• Ensure UI consistency across all platforms and maintain a consistent visual identity.
• Utilize user-centered design methodologies to refine UI elements based on player feedback and usability testing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4+ years of professional game development experience (required).
• Experience in Unity3D and/or Unreal engine creating and implementing UI assets in-engine for different platforms (required).
• Experience shipping at least one professional game or mobile app as a UI Artist working as part of a team (required).
• Excellent portfolio demonstrating UI design skills, including wireframes, prototypes, and final UI in-game implementations.
• Solid understanding of UI design principles and processes.
• Demonstrable experience with Adobe CC design tools, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
• Proficiency in utilizing version control systems (Perforce, Git, SVN) with a strong emphasis on efficient file organization and asset management.
• Aptitude for quickly learning new tools and processes when necessary.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with an ability to articulate design concepts.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience working with multiple game engines and implementing UI assets. 
• 3D modeling, motion graphics, or illustration skills.
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages relevant to UI development.

Salary Range

• The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 annually, based on the experience and qualifications of the individual.
