GrubHub announced yesterday a partnership with The Onion and The A.V. Club in order to help promote The 2nd Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival. Diners who use GrubHub for delivery on May 21 and May 22 have a chance that their food will be delivered by a comedian participating in the comedy festival.
Diners must enter promo code “TheOnion” when placing their orders, and they must order between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. from one of the following GrubHub partner restaurants: Cemitas Puebla (Fulton Market), Chuck’s: A Kerry Simon Kitchen, Farmer’s Fridge (Canal St.), Farmhouse Tavern, Mercadito Counter, Mr. Greek Gyros, New Rebozo, Pizzeria Due, Stan’s Donuts (Erie St.), and Tippling Hall.

Winners, who will be drawn at random, will be treated to delivery by either Brody Stevens or Mike Lebovitz, each of whom will perform a five-minute comedy set upon delivery. Allie Mack, a senior associate of public relations at GrubHub, said the company plans to accommodate one comedy delivery per hour.
“GrubHub and The Onion are two beloved Chicago brands. From an association standpoint, we're aligned in our sarcastic senses of humor,” Mack said. “We love The Onion over here and have been looking for a way to work with them, and the more and more we think about the Chicago delivery scene, the more opportunities we identify to bring the GrubHub brand to life for our diners.”
Stevens, a Los Angeles-based comedian and former executive producer and star of Comedy Central’s Brody Stevens: Enjoy It!, has guest starred on Conan, Chelsea Lately, The Best Damn Sports Show, Tosh.O, FOX NFL Sunday, and The Hangover Parts I and II. Lebovitz, based in Chicago, is a member of the Chicago collective Comedians You Should Know. Additionally, he is co-curator of Senorita Weiner’s Top Secret Humor Experiment and Ice Cream Social Club.
The 2nd Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival takes place at multiple venues across Chicago, lasting from May 26 through May 30. John Mulaney, Vanessa Bayer, and Eric Andre are headlining acts, in addition to film screenings with “Weird Al” Yankovic and a discussion led by writers from The Onion and The Simpsons.
