Chicago-based Zebra Technologies has announced that Instacart will utilize its internet of things platform Zatar to help manage cloud printing and device management of Zebra printers. Zatar will enable Instacart to print labels at grocery stores across the US in an accurate and secure manner. The platform will also give Instacart an avenue to build custom applications, manage its assets, and control all of its devices in third-party locations. FarmLogix teams up with Peapod to source

Evanston-based FarmLogix has partnered with Peapod in an effort to bring fresh, farmer’s market produce directly to your door. FarmLogix enables businesses to order directly from farmers and will help Peapod source its Midwestern produces boxes for 10 states. NightOwl flies into Chicago to prove local search is broken

New York-based NightOwl launched on Wednesday in Chicago to prove that local search—a model that tech giants like Yelp, Foursquare, TripAdvisor all rely on—is broken. U of I's gesture recognition platform Rithmio lands $3M in seed round funding
