Have you caught up on your sleep after Lollapalooza? While it may be tempting to spend this week reenergizing, the Chicago startup community has a packed week of events you won't want to miss out on. Here are five startup events in Chicago to check out this week.

1. Avant Meetup, August 4 at 5:30 p.m.

FinTEx Chicago is bringing together two top players in fintech for an evening networking event–and you’re invited. Established in 2012, Avant has taken personal loans online using their proprietary software that more accurately determine consumers’ creditworthiness. Yodlee, another innovator in the fintech space, has used its aggregated consumer financial data and built a platform to provide more marketable solutions for companies.

2. Hands on Lab: Build an Android app using IBM Bluemix, August 5 at 12 p.m.

Spend your lunch hour with Neeraja Ganesan, IBM Software Engineer, and build a mobile app that leverages the Bluemix Mobile Services. Bluemix provides mobile services for shared data, push, and server-side scripting. The Bluemix mobile services include SDKs for Android, iOS and JavaScript. The workshop will make use of the Bluemix Mobile Services to quickly integrate Cloudant, a NoSQL database, into a mobile app. Lunch will be provided.

3. Art of Awesome Personal Branding Workshop, August 5 at 6 p.m.

How did people like The Rock, Jay-Z, and Tina Fey become dynamic personalities who constantly innovate, while people like Hulk Hogan and Vanilla Ice stay stuck in the past? The former built incredible personal brands. It's easier to become a Hogan or Vanilla Ice than you think, and in this workshop Idea Lemon co-founders Rajiv Nathan and Martin McGovern will show you how to build your personal brand by taking charge of your life and career, so that you constantly innovate and stay ahead of the game.

4. Salesforce.com Relaunch Featuring Customer Success Story From Aon, August 6 at 3 p.m.

In 2006, Aon selected Salesforce.com as their strategic platform for contact, account, and opportunity management globally. Today, Aon’s Salesforce.com implementation supports 7,000 Aon colleagues across 85 countries and six languages. After nine years of use, it became apparent Aon’s Salesforce.com implementation needed an overhaul to support the current and emerging needs of the firm. Join Rightpoint and our featured guest, SFDC Global Manager Heather Schreiber from Aon, as they look at what makes an enterprise launch of Salesforce.com successful, including real-world examples from Aon.

5. Breakfast Club (downtown), August 7 at 8 a.m.

The Breakfast Club meets the first Friday of every month and is an informal gathering of people interested in talking/learning about product development and networking with other product development professionals.
