Inc. has released its comprehensive list of the top-growing, privately held companies in the US. It comes as no surprise that a hefty amount of the 5,000 companies spotlighted call Chicago home.

Leading the pack for digital tech companies was Signal, a global leader in real-time, cross-channel marketing technology, who landed high at number 51, with a growth over the past year climbing to an insane 5,244 percent. In the past year alone, they added 109 jobs — bringing their employee total up to 139.

Meanwhile, Sprout Social — a leading social media management platform for businesses — came in at 78 with a reported growth of 3,918 percent. The company brought in $15.2 million last year and added over 140 new members to their team.

Two other privately held companies squeezed into the top 100 fastest growing companies: Revamp Electronics (50) and LLT Group (92).

In total, a whopping 245 of the top 5,000 companies were rooted in Illinois.

At 481 and 493 respectively, DevMynd and Market6 both cracked the top 500. Companies like Punchkick Interactive, JumpForward, Gorilla Group, Rise Interactive, Coyote Logistics, and Mediafly (among many others) all made the cut as well.
