The top 5 Chicago tech events you want on your calendar this week

Each week, we bring you the top tech events taking place across Chicago. This week, we have a marketing bootcamp for legal tech startups, an open house at IBM and a technical demo night. Chicago’s Women In Tech conference is also taking place on Friday, along with SaaS-focused #BrightConf. If you’re still looking for fresh events or want to share your own, check out our full event calendar.

Marketing Bootcamp: Working with Analysts and the Media in Legal Tech, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m.

Pitching the media can be tough. Not only do you have to quickly explain your project, but you also have to show why it’s newsworthy. This event aimed at legaltech startups will include panelists from Forbes, Above the Law and kCura. It’s also part of kCura’s Relativity Fest, a yearly gathering of legaltech professionals.

IBM Cloud Object Storage R&D Career Open House, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m.

Want to break into cloud computing? IBM Cloud Object Storage is looking for folks who are passionate about bleeding edge tech and solving problems in big data. This open house will give selected applicants a chance to hear from IBM’s senior vice president of research and development, a panel with IBM’s master inventors and time to mingle with the R&D team.

Technically Speaking hosted by Jellyvision, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.

Come hear the motivation behind Chicago’s tech community. Learn about the tools, tips, resources and projects that helped three tech teams get their jobs done. Hear about the thought process behind the architecture, project challenges and other important project aspects.

Chicago Women In Tech Conference, Oct. 14 at 8:30 a.m.

The gender gap in tech is striking. But women are achieving great things in the industry, leveraging unique experiences and resources. This conference, open to women and men, brings those achievements to the forefront. Hear from Chicago tech’s top women and get your questions answered with plenty of built-in discussion time.

#BrightConf, Oct 14 at 9 a.m.

SaaS companies are the future and plenty of new ones are calling Chicago home. At #BrightConf, SaaS industry leaders will talk about growth strategies for startups. Panelists include Jellyvision CEO Amanda Lannert, Sprout Social CEO Justyn Howard and Trello vice president of marketing Stella Garber.
