Chicago tech's biggest night is back! Nominations just opened for our sixth annual Moxie Awards, which means you have until April 25 to tell us about all the awesome things your company is working on.
If you’re already familiar with the Moxies, we’re excited to see you again! But for those of you who aren’t, we’ve put together a quick primer.
What are the Moxie Awards?
Presented by Built In Chicago annually since 2012, the Moxie Awards are an occasion to recognize and celebrate the city’s most innovative entrepreneurs and digital tech companies, and all they contribute to our tech ecosystem. Who picks the winners?
You do, alongside a panel of expert judges from the Chicago tech scene. When the finalists are announced, we put the vote to the community. Your votes and those of our judges will be weighted equally to determine the winner in each category.
What are the categories?
The 12 company categories are split between Startup Awards and Headline Awards. To qualify for a Startup Award, a company has to be founded within the past five years. The Headline Awards do not have a company age limit. The Moxies also have two individual categories: the Woman in Tech Award and CEO of the Year.

Who can I nominate?
Aside from the rules for specific categories, nominations are limited to digital technology companies headquartered in the Chicagoland area. You can only nominate one company per category, but you can nominate the same company for multiple categories. You’re not required to nominate companies for every category, and you can only nominate once. Read the full rules here.
Should I let my friends and colleagues in the tech scene know to submit their nominations too?
Definitely.

May 1.
Can I attend the Moxie Awards ceremony?
Of course! The 2017 Moxie Awards will be presented on June 7 at Morgan Manufacturing, and tickets for the ceremony go on sale on May 1. If you’re signed up for our weekly newsletter, we’ll be sure to let you know when the tickets become available.
How do I know if I'm one of the finalists?
We'll contact you directly if you or your company make it to the finals.
