This past summer I witnessed something that totally blew my mind and warmed my heart.

Last May Brad Feld decided he was going to run a marathon and raise money on GiveForward for someone he didn’t know, a 17-year-old named Justin who was battling stage 4 testicular cancer.  Miraculously, Justin ended up beating cancer and now Brad’s at it again.

Brad's running the Detroit Marathon on October 21st and has chosen another person on GiveForward to help.  His name is Jedi Max. Max is eight-years-old and LOVES Star Wars.  Max also happens to have a very aggressive form of brain cancer called Glioblastoma Multiforming.

Now, here's where the Chicago Startup Community Comes in.  We want to show Brad how awesome the Chicago Startup Community is by helping him reach his $10,000 goal by Oct 21.   Brad is going to match every dollar contributed up to $5000.

As an extra incentive, we're also going to raffle off a signed copy of Brad's new book, Startup Communities, to anyone who contibutes by Oct 21 and uses the hashtag #ChiStartupsSupportMax.

You can contribute by going to Jedi Max's GiveForward Page.

May the Force be with you!

PS - The Detroit Startup Community is entering the same challenge. Let's make sure we kick their butts!!!
