Edopter: Chicago Lean Startup Challenge Day 33

Amazing. So I live in Indiana and commute regularly to Chicago. With that, I am heavily reliant on the transit system. Well today they took that for granted as we were  forty minutes late. This sparked an unending stream of late arrivals to meetings.

Thankfully, Scott Weisman is a great guy and looked past my shortcomings. We were able to talk about Launchpad Lab and all the things they were doing. Launchpad right now does client work and does it rather successfully. The goal though is to start to take their in-house products and see them come to market and scale.

Scott was awesome as well in talking through Edopter and helping me to think through potential problems. He's excited about the potential of Edopter and the fact that our service is a "morphine problem" for startups. The execution now is the key thing.

After that ran late, I was finally able to  finally meet up with Drew DePriest. Now in addition to this awesome name, Drew had found me on Twitter and just started doing great things for Edopter promoting it like it was his own company!

I'm not going to lie. He is a tech startup gangster. We talked about everything at lunch and  it ended up  we read and follow the same things. He's also ten years older than me and an adjunct Professor at DePaul as well as working for a "smart home" corporation. He had a lot to share and I have a notebook to prove it. We will keep talking.

Finally, I met up with Aaron Zeitner of GameFace. GameFace seems poised to really take over online match-making from a social gaming angle. They are also going after a pretty lucrative market: college students.

Aaron is full of energy and we again went way over time. Funny enough , we are now hosting an Edopter event for them on Wednesday August 14th. See you there.
