Full Day of Training for MidCamp! Promet Source+Build-A-Module=Love
As one of the Midwest’s top Drupal development firms, Promet Source looks forward to giving back to the community by sponsoring a full day of training during MidCamp, a Drupal conference.

Promet Source, a Chicago-based interactive firm specializing in Drupal, is a gold-level sponsor of the premiere Midwest Drupal conference, MidCamp. In addition to providing the funds necessary to facilitate the camp, Promet also has several representatives on the planning committee. Further, Promet is excited to sponsor a day of training in partnership with BuildAModule on Friday, March 28th, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the University Center in downtown Chicago. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals looking to extend their skill set and for those exploring the possibility of either building their first Drupal website or using Drupal as a solution for their business needs.

Promet Source and BuildAModule have paired up to offer a full day of mentoring. The training is geared to content editors, students and beginner-level Drupal developers just learning about Drupal (either Drupal 7 or Drupal 8). Participants can focus on one or multiple topics: basic site building, advanced site building, basic PHP programming, theming and/or module building. The course is designed for students to learn at their own pace with interactive videos and hands-on support from Drupal leaders. Additionally, students are able to apply the lessons to real-world projects in the classroom. "The team at BuildAModule has found that the self-led mentored training approach offers the most long-term benefits for those just getting into Drupal," said BAM founder, Chris Shattuck. “The Mentored Trainings have proven to be more satisfying than traditional trainings over and over again. Each student can work on what's most important to them and get direct one-on-one help anytime they need it and it ends up being a lot of fun. You get to make important social connections and everyone makes a lot of progress.”

Promet Source is sending some of the strongest Drupal developers in the industry to act as mentors, all with different specialties: Michelle Krejci (the organizer of the training), Doug DobrzynskiMarc Delay and Allan Chappell. Not only do they bring advanced Drupal knowledge, they also bring experience in training. Plus, the team has an impressive history leading sessions at many prestigious Drupal events including DrupalCon and BADCamp, among others.
Promet’s own Michelle Krejci has coordinated the training with Chris Shattuck of BuildAModule. Thanks to Promet and B-A-M, the training will be at a low cost of $99 which includes lunch and a 90-day subscription to BuildAModule so students can continue to experiment and learn long after the course is complete. Other Drupal camps have offered this same training for over $400. “Promet Source chose to offer this at a lower rate as a way to welcome new Drupal users into the community. Fostering and training a new generation of Drupal developers is the best way to ensure the future and the integrity of our industry,” said Andy Kucharski, Promet Source President.

As Drupal continues to gain market share as a preferred CMS platform, education for Drupal developers is more important than ever. Drupal developers are in high-demand and there is no better way to learn than under the guidance of experienced mentors.

“Opportunities to train with Drupal professionals are rare but invaluable. This training brings together some of the finest leaders in the community, opening the door wide for anyone interested in learning about Drupal,” said Michelle Krejci.
