Brooklyn Boulders Chicago is in the process of building its third location in Chicago's West Loop on 100 S Morgan Street. Brooklyn Boulders (BKB) designs, builds and operates hybrid rock climbing facilities anchored by the premise that physicality stimulates innovation and creativity. The team is ecstatic to be launching in such a vibrant neighborhood with so much going on. Without a big box approach, and or an agenda the team is in the discovery process. Learning how BKB can best tailor the space through design and programming to cater to and support what is already transpiring instead of re-creating the wheel all together is a core tenant of the organization.
With an Active Collabrative Workspcae, all sorts of hybrid fitness programming, pop-up art show space and 50' climbing towers covered in Baltic Birch, the space is less than conventional and will hopefully serve as a venue for TEDx events to rap performances in addition to climbing as the other facilities in Brooklyn and Boston have done.

A major focus of the organization is to work closely with Veterans in Chicago. In partnership with Tactivate, Brooklyn Boulders will be hiring from the veteran community and will be exploring ways in which it can incorporate military command structure into its management model in Chicago - staffing veterans to run the facility.

We would love to invite the Built in Chicago community to join us for a Hard Hat Dinner event on the site to gather under the walls and to chat about how BKB may become a valuable tool for the start-up community in Chicago. At recent events we have had Slang, a renowned local street artist give graffiti art classes prior to dinner.
