Chicago’s Tap Me received $1 million in funding in January, making the company — which is building an advertising platform for mobile gaming — the latest graduate of Excelerate Labs’ class of 2010 to receive substantial outside investment.
The investment will help Tap Me grow, and it also serves as validation for CEO Joshua Hernandez, who just three years ago decided to return to college for a career change. Now, he and his team of 12 are working in a small corner of a vast office in the Merchandise Mart, refining their product and trying to sign on video game developers and advertisers. He tells Silicon City about the process.
