Lori Noel: What Culture Means to Me

In this series, PeopleFoundry employees share what our culture means to them. Lori Noel, one of our Senior Recruitment Consultants, tells her story.

I have worked in the recruitment industry for the majority of my career. Before coming to work at PeopleFoundry, I worked in educational and IT recruiting. Although I really enjoyed the work I was doing, I couldn’t help but notice the growing gap in the industry.

When I came across PeopleFoundry’s job opening, I was drawn to the posting initially because of the creative logo. Fortunately, the logo wasn’t the only thing I liked. After reading through the website, I was instantly hooked on the PF business model. PeopleFoundry has created an extremely hands-on mentality. And before I knew it, I was the candidate experiencing this approach first hand. I loved how professional, honest and relaxed my interview process was. By the second round of interviews, I found myself cracking jokes with the team and thought to myself, “This is where I want to be.”

After such a positive interview experience, I was excited to come in and start working closely with our clients and get to know my new colleagues. I showed up to work at the PeopleFoundry office on the first day, and I was joined by only one third of the rest of the PF team. PeopleFoundry’s Cincinnati office is a bit smaller than our headquarters out in Chicago, and I was the newest addition to our Cincy team. I absolutely love the Cincinnati office space. The overarching PeopleFoundry culture is very apparent regardless of the PeopleFoundry location, but each office has a few unique qualities that tie into that specific work environment. With our smaller team in Cincinnati, there is a tremendous amount of ownership, and that to me is huge.

Although I work miles from some of my co-workers, I see every one of them virtually at least twice a week. And between some of the Chicago team frequently making their way over to our Cincinnati office and every PF employee coming together for our quarterly all company meetings and events, every PF location is cohesive rather than functioning as its own individual unit. It’s so easy to feel our culture translated over the offices because everyone has the same mission, and at the end of the day we are driven by the same vision and goals.

Through our company culture, we foster responsibility. Doing what is right is the biggest thing here. My experience in recruitment has allowed me to see several different perspectives regarding the definition of company culture. PeopleFoundry truly lives up to the values you will find displayed on the website and office walls. When it comes to culture, you can preach all you want, but you actually have to practice what you preach for it to be true. And that is exactly what PeopleFoundry does each day - we stay true to our word by creating a tangible culture. It doesn’t matter what office you step in, you just see it. We are all so close, cohesive and drama free.
