MATT MOOG - GETTING WHAT HE DESERVES

Once in a while, good things happen to people who deserve them.

If you are in a technology-enabled business, and in the Chicago area, chances are you know Matt Moog.

If you stay up on the vibrant cultural scene in Chicago, chances are you know Redmoon.

In less than one month, these two forces will meet in a dizzying  revelry of fiery frenzy that will delight all who bear witness.

What’s this you say?

Redmoon recently announced its inaugural GALVANIZER AWARD -- recognizing the importance of community building to the health and well-being of Chicago thru the creation of economic, social and cultural vibrancy for its citizens, and international recognition for the city.  Redmoon’s work and art aims to be a contributor to this vital mission, and in turn, wants to recognize other outstanding contributions in this area.

This award celebrates individuals who:

  • galvanize local community for a shared purpose that is beneficial to the city of  Chicago,
  • design or create inspired environments,
  • and develop innovative approaches that have made a difference in their respective fields.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MATT  --  named recipient of the 2013 GALVANIZER AWARD for enhancing Chicago’s digital community with his leadership.

Matt will be receiving this award on March 9th at Redmoon’s Spectacle Lunatique.

The Galvanizer selection committee specifically highlighted the following:

  • Matt is founder and chairman of  Built in Chicago -- an effective online forum for the digital community to connect, gather offline, find jobs/employees, and showcase their companies.  Besides the incredible  growth in Chicago, the “Built in” platform  is now being introduced in other cities including Denver and Los Angeles.
  • Matt chaired the energetic team that developed 1871, the much lauded co-working space now capably led by the CEC’s Kevin Willer.
  • Matt initiated the Firestarter Fund, a group of local digital leaders who invest money, connections and their expertise to local technology-enabled startups.

Oh yeah, he also has a full time job, CEO of Viewpoints, AND leads a family of 3 kids with his equally incredible wife Lucy.

You can see Matt learning about the award here, in true Redmoon form....Most of you will recognize Matt’s warm and friendly signature smile at the end.

In the spirit Chicago’s Daniel Burnham (and Matt), MAKE NO LITTLE PLANS....
