My name is Adam Ahmad and I'm an 18 year old entrepreneur that recently graduated high school. I just launched a company called Swapidy. It's an online trading marketplace that enables users to post their products in an eBay-style listing with pictures, description, etc. However, instead of buying and selling, it's all about trading. Traders can negotiate back and forth with each other until they strike a deal. Once an offer has been accepted, the products are then sent to Swapidy's verification center.
As soon as the products reach the verification center, they are checked to ensure that they are functional, as described, and legitimate. Once both parties' items are verified, they are shipped to their respective parties. Voilá! Done!
The fee structure is quite simple. Swapidy charges anywhere from $1-10 depending upon the product category plus shipping. So let's say you were trading a video game for a gift card. You would pay $5 plus shipping costs.
Swapidy just launched three categories including Books, Video Games, and Gift Cards to test the market. Every 2-3 weeks new categories will launch based on consumer demand through a voting system on the landing page. Currently "Cell Phones" is in the lead with 146 votes alongside iPods and Tablet PC's.
If an item you are offering isn't worth as much as the item you want, Swapidy enables you to even the trade through its coin system. Traders can buy coins through the website and offer them in addition to their products. Once a deal has been complete, coins are put into the respective account(s) and can be used for future negotiations or redeemed for cash.
