Pieces of There, the Chicago startup that sells care packages of local products from across the U.S. and abroad, just sealed an exclusive contract to partner with The University of Alabama. The school will now promote Pieces of There's care packages to the parents of their out-of-state students.

The University of Alabama has more than 35,000 students, almost half of whom are from outside Alabama – ideal candidates for a Pieces of There care package. PiecesofThere.com features more than 200 care packages filled with signature foods and souvenirs from more than 35 cities and regions in the U.S. and overseas.

“A Pieces of There care package is the perfect homesick cure. Our mission is help decrease college depression brought on by homesickness, because research shows that college students with depression are twice as likely as their classmates to drop out of school.” Pieces of There founder and CEO Elizabeth Kulin said. “We are excited to be a new resource for the University of Alabama community, especially for those who are missing their hometown.”

PiecesofThere.com is already featured on the University of Chicago’s care package webpage, and is now being promoted by a total of 5 Universities across the country.
