We were invited by Air Berlin to be the first to capture the landing of Air Berlin’s very first nonstop flight from Berlin to Chicago. Thanks to the Chicago Fire Department, the Airbus 330-200 was greeted with a water cannon salute as it taxied into its gate. Germany’s second largest carrier now offers nonstop service three times a week from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Tegel Airport in Berlin.
The Berlin to Chicago service will increase to five times weekly starting May 1. Air Berlin’s inauguration at O’hare marks what will hopefully be steady growth in their US presence. Congrats to the Air Berlin team!
