Not long ago I met Luc Lam, founder of Good Yeti at 2112* where I was asked to mentor tech startups. Those discussions with Luc open my eyes to the potential of VR in direct mail marketing. It peaked my interest enough to do some research to craft a point of view on what, why, when, how would I use VR in direct mail and in general. I looked for current Direct Marketing / Mail industry metrics and best practices to run those through my Agile Marketing filter.
I also looked for and found award winning Direct Mail creative like WVRST Sausage Party Invite and others at D&AD Awards to balance against my expectations of the potential of immersive experiences attainable with VR in just its current evolution.
