Why Would I Ever Want To Work In the Suburbs?

I get asked all the time "Why do you commute all the way downtown to work when you do not really need to be down there?"  The answer is simple.  I love working in a collaboritive enviroment with people who are just as hungry as me to build a sucessful business.  A place that I am able to learn from others that have conquered the same problems I am facing as an entrepreneur.  I love a community that embraces mentorship and paying it forward.  A community and space that energizes and inspires me to build something great.  I never found a space in the burbs that could offer any of this.  I did however find a small group of people that were facing the same problems.

Introducing the Elgin Technology Center.  We are a group of entrepreneurs with a common goal of creating a collaboritive enviroment in the suburbs that helps entrepreneurs grow and evolve. We want to find other like minded people in the burbs that would like to be part of building this new collaboritive community.  We have a meetup this Thursday, and I invite you to attend if you are interested in leanring more about what we are trying to accomplish.  Drop in for some pizza, beer, and brainstorming.  Let's stop bitching about what the suburbs are lacking, and start building.
