[ibimage==43963==Large==none==self==null]There has been a lot of talk about what has been wrong with gender equality in the tech sector, but we haven't heard a lot about what is going right. A group of women living and breathing tech startups everyday is getting together to help ourselves - or younger versions of ourselves - to inspire and support women to enter or stay in tech/computer science/entrepreneurship and consider the startup world.

You've probably heard the stats on the dismal picture for women-founded startups, but as women who have been through it, we know that the lack of support, community and solidarity while facing a daily fight for credibility is a big intangible that leads to a high drop-out rate. We're trying to fight back against that reality.

We've built a web site and have a wonderful videographer Bradley LaRocco of Missing Button Entertainment creating videos of our stories. The first one is live on our home page (Desiree Vargas-Wrigley, co-founder of GiveForward), and more are in the works including these amazing founders.

We're launching with an event at 1871 on January 27th. We're inviting everyone interested in tech and entrepreneurship, including founders, students and supporters both male and female.

Our vision is to create student-selected events each semester that compliment our growing women founder stories platform (www.womentechfounders.com)  Our goal is to help these women connect to each other and to resources in the community. Will you join us?
