Job DescriptionWhat you’ll be doing

• Evaluating and putting in place tools and practices that enable engineering teams to achieve continuous delivery of cloud services.

• Troubleshooting cloud software infrastructure issues and collaborating with development teams in resolving them.

• Actively monitoring the operational state of our Cloud infrastructure, engaging in cybersecurity threat assessments of new and existing features.

• Partnering with architects to increase the stability and availability of the cloud services platform.

• Growing the infrastructure as code framework to ensure simple and fast setup and tear down of environments.

• Implementing observability and telemetry tools and practices that give teams actionable insights into their services.

• Working towards automating provisioning of the cloud platform to increase self serviceability.

• Acting as a steward of Kubernetes clusters to ensure they are secure and meet the needs of engineering teams.

• Aid in transitioning the cloud platform towards the use of open source, industry standard and cloud vendor agnostic frameworks.

Success criteria

• You’ve helped one or more engineering teams achieve continuous delivery of their cloud services.

• Cloud platform availability increases quarter over quarter towards a goal of a 99.99% SLO.

• Cloud infrastructure is deployable with the click of a button.

• Support teams are alerted to platform and services degradation and outages before customers notice.

• You have removed barriers enabling engineering teams to run all of their services in cloud

• You thrive at driving process change and automation that will streamline engineering practices.

• You value emerging and highly adopted industry standards over complex home grown solutions.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of deep, hands on experience administering and running cloud services in Azure, GCP or AWS

• Experience with high-level programming languages (preferably C#)

• 5+ years experience with scripting languages, such as Powershell (preferred) or Bash

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Terraform

• Understanding of the underlying technologies and practices that enable teams to achieve continuous delivery

• Experience in KQL or similar big data query language for being able to figure out and make data-driven decisions for prod issues and other troubleshooting needs 

• Hands on experience with build and deployment pipeline automation, GitHub Actions is a plus

• Experience with observability and site reliability monitoring, OTEL knowledge is a plus.

• Hands on experience with cloud monitoring tools.

• A never ending curiosity to research, recommend and implement tools and practices that will further our continuous improvement journey.

• Familiarity with code scanning tools like MEND and SonarQube

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
