ContextMedia adds second floor to fit new hires

Health information provider announced on Monday it is expanding its offices to a second floor on 330 N. Wabash Ave. Having expanded its staff from 240 employees to 350 in just over half a year, the company expects to be able to accommodate 500 workers in the building after the expansion — and hiring shows no sign of slowing down. A recent survey by WalletHub found that eight of the 10 best entry-level jobs for college graduates were STEM-related. The top 10 list included software engineer, web app developer and systems engineer, to name a few. [WalletHub]
 

Textura to join forces with Oracle

Uptake takes on cybersecurity veteran

announced it has hired Nicholas Percoco, former head of ’s SpiderLabs white hat hacker team. Percoco will serve as the company’s chief information security officer. In an interview with Crain’s, the company said the decision to beef up its cybersecurity capabilities is a natural next step as the company handles ever-increasing volumes of sensitive data. Narrative Science launches Microsoft collaboration

announced a new collaboration with Microsoft on Tuesday, bringing the Chicago company’s natural language generation capabilities to Microsoft’s Power BI data analytics tool. Cliq raises funding to boost group hangs

Chicago social networking startup

raised $710,000 last week to keep expanding on its app, which helps friend groups meet up with each other to expand their social circles. The startup is currently working on the infrastructure for offering deals at concerts, bars and restaurants, as well as posting status updates to keep friends in the loop on a group’s whereabouts.
