Review Trackers, a Chicago B2B software company headquartered in the Wicker Park neighborhood, is announcing that it has successfully raised $2 million in venture capital funding. The investment round was led by CSA Partners, plus investors from Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Wisconsin.

“We’re thrilled to be a growing company here in Chicago, a major center for high-growth B2B companies and corporate IT,” said CEO and founder Chris Campbell. “Not only will the investment allow us to accelerate growth and further develop our product; it will also enable Review Trackers to continue the tradition of B2B Chicago companies delivering crazy value to business organizations and enterprises.”

Founded in 2012, with an official product launch in January 2013, Review Trackers helps local businesses monitor their online reviews, discover key business insights, and respond to what consumers are saying on sites like TripAdvisor, Google, and Foursquare. The company offers a proprietary software platform currently being used by thousands of business locations, ranging from restaurants and hotels to car dealerships, theme parks, and salons and spas.

A monthly Review Trackers plan costs $29 per business location; the software leverages proprietary data collection technology to aggregate reviews, ratings, and other consumer-generated data from over 40 major review sites.

Recently, Review Trackers completed the gener8tor accelerator program in Wisconsin and was recognized as Innovative Web Technologies finalist in last year’s SXSW Interactive Accelerator. It has also been featured in Forbes, USA Today, Ad Age, VentureBeat, CNN, TechCrunch, and the Chicago Tribune.

Campbell, who was once awarded DePaul University’s Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year, decided to build the company after being frustrated by the lack of available review monitoring tools. At the time, he was working as a marketing consultant looking to solve the problem of managing the online reviews of some of his marketing clients. This was how Review Trackers was born.

“Our feature set is designed specifically for business owners and marketers who are looking to make sense of online reviews, ratings, and customer feedback,” he said. “Why? Because a negative review is equivalent to someone standing outside your business holding a sign telling people not to go in. So essentially, Review Trackers is to reviews as Hootsuite is to social media.

“With the investment, we can more effectively help them strengthen their reputation in the digital age and thrive in today’s data-driven economy.
