Two months ago we started looking for teams of talented and passionate entrepreneurs who were solving real world problems to join our summer 2014 cohort at Coolhouse Labs. Now, almost at the end of our program, the teams are thriving. Each is taking advantage of all the resources given to them and making the most of their time here in Harbor Springs, Michigan. As a tech startup accelerator, we give each team $25,000, access to an incredible network of mentors, and help from a talented team of developers and designers. Not to mention, they get to experience many undefined perks that come along with being in a small, beautiful Michigan town.
They're working hard to prepare for our 2014 Chicago demo day which will occur on September 4th from 6-8pm at The Starter League. If you're interested and want to attend, sign up here.

As for the teams, here's a little introduction:
BlueMed (Ontario) - BlueMed has created an automated self check-in system for medical practices. A sensor equipped iPad-based system that automates collection of patient vitals and history and includes a scale, blood pressure cuff, and heart rate monitor. They're continuing to make connections and test their system in doctors offices throughout the midwest. They recently converted their first 3 clinics to paying customers.
Cotalented (New York/San Francisco) - Cotalented is an online marketplace connecting high-growth employers to the best recruitment services.
Fountain Greetings (New York City) - Introducing innovation into the greeting card industry is no small task, but that’s exactly what we’re setting out to do. Everyone loves to receive a handwritten card, but finding a nice card, writing inside, and posting it? Another story. Fountain helps by letting you send a handwritten card in under 2 minutes. We designed our service to make human connections more personal. Whether you want to wish your friend a happy birthday, thank Mom for being awesome, or just say hi, Fountain makes it happen.
Leasemaid (Chicago) - LeaseMaid.com handles the chores of leasing apartments. They provide a 100% free web and mobile platform that securely organizes and streamlines the lease closing process for landlords and rental management companies by screening tenants, generating leases & disclosures, collecting rent, and managing repairs.
LocalFu (Philadelphia) - Localfu is a travel platform that gives users personalized travel plans created by locals for $5. After testing in Harbor Springs, they launched in 6 other cities - including Chicago, with trips planned for Lollapalooza.
Rex (Houston, TX) - Rex was created to improve the quality of companion animal health. For pet owners, Rex is a personal Web service that helps find veterinarians (by location, quality, and price) and book appointments instantly, 24/7. For veterinarians, Rex is a channel to help reach prospective pet owners and maximize the efficiency of their practices by filling open appointments.
