Foosball

Foosball
It is that infamous image of the tech company culture – the bean bag chairs, the massages, and of course, the foosball table.  Google and Facebook swear by the “work hard, play hard” method. Even Grand Theft Auto V lampoons the image in one scene in the game.  I admit must admit that we play our part at Syndio Social.  The foosball table in the center of our office is adorned with the company logo and the games get intense.  So here is an insider’s take on the whole scene.  Google, Facebook, and Syndio Social know what they are doing.  The foosball table serves its purpose in a number of ways.  First, it locks down that relaxed work environment which we have created.  That environment allows more creativity and a whole lot more communication between employees who are comfortable with each other.  When you have screamed at someone’s face during a foosball game, business discussions flow very naturally.  Also, I am a big believer in taking breaks.  Crunching through data all day can slow your brain down and a perfect cure for that is a 10 minute foosball game.  I guarantee it creates better production.  Basically, I am here to say that the cliché of the foosball table is here to stay.
