What it means to be a finalist for “Breakthrough Digital Company of the Year”

Some disclaimers first… I’m not a C-level executive of GoHealth and I’m not a VP. I am however an employee of GoHealth that’s been on the team for almost seven years. Sure, I’ve had an impact on the company’s success that I’m proud of, but I’ve done it on the front lines as an executor.

So, then what does a BuiltIn Moxie nomination for “Breakthrough Digital Company of the Year” mean to someone like me?

If I were interviewed on TV, I might say something like, “It feels great to be a part of a rapidly growing company that’s destined for success. We’re all tremendously proud of our work here and we are excited for the opportunities ahead.”

I also think the nomination is a result of our very rapid growth, a very advantageous position going into health reform, and significant funding ($50 million in June).

And while that’s all true, there’s really a lot more to it. To me, GoHealth is really a breakthrough company because of the opportunities it gives for employees.

For me personally, I started as an entry-level copywriter and worked my way up to where I am today in just six short years. There are very few companies that allow for that and I feel very fortunate that GoHealth has opened these doors.

Now, that’s not to say everything is perfect. Not everyone thrives in this type of environment and I’ve seen many former employees move on to workplaces better suited for them. But the bottom line is that your destiny at GoHealth is up to you, and that’s a huge benefit. (Unlimited vacation and summer hours aren’t bad either.)

For me, GoHealth has been a “Breakthrough Company” for a long time.

Agree, vote. Disagree, no hard feelings.
