The Account Manager (AM is responsible for leading the success of clients' Search Engine Optimization (SEO) programs. The AM provides thought leadership on search strategies; builds strong relationships; establishes clear lines of communication with clients, partners and internal staff members; and uses problem-solving capabilities to assure flawless program execution to meet and exceed stated objectives. The ideal AM candidate will possess an eye for detail, a mind for creativity and the ability to manage time and processes for internal and external clients. Success will depend on the ability to enthusiastically and competently deliver on the following: SEO strategy, execution, reporting and analysis account management – from planning to delivery and continued growth successful collaboration with internal resources (including design, analytics and cross-channel teams) making team members, internal clients and external clients smile big and often Role Objectives: Account Management Assumes accountability and ownership of Performance Content team program successes and failures for several client accounts Monitors and reports program status to senior management. Leads client programs with confidence and clarity Drives overall strategy and tactics needed to achieve stated client goals Interfaces with other department leads to share ideas, communicate service offerings, and to identify and deliver new solutions for clients Keeps management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks and other key nuances which affect the health of the business Understands natural search optimization best practices and articulates knowledge and client deliverables effectively Develops client landing page and site testing efforts to improve performance across digital media campaigns Program Management Directs and manages the daily work flow of all client search programs, including initiation and management of projects across departments Reviews client deliverables for quality and ensures that recommendations and work product are sound and viable Creates and executes search account strategies and plans for each client Provides excellent communication via phone, emails and direct contact Effectively creates and delivers client presentations Provides thought leadership to clients in search and online marketing Commands data analysis of key metrics to identify, recommend and implement changes for increasing the performance of client programs Meets specified deadlines Team Leadership & Development Embraces and encourages a culture based on team work, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity Adopts stated account management standards and program management best practices Assists in training, mentoring, and developing team members Process Improvement Assists in the development and documentation of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group Identification of new developments and trends in the marketplace around SEO and digital content marketing Desired Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred 2-4 years of account management experience in online advertising, direct marketing, or e-commerce Firm knowledge of SEO best practices, program management and technical savvy Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) experience a plus Understanding of online analytics metrics and related statistical concepts Experience with a web analytics platform such as Omniture, Google Analytics, or Coremetrics Exposure to website development/design processes including development of wireframes, preferred Technical knowledge and aptitude to learn basic website architectural design, HTML, CSS and XML a plus Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills Minimum of 1-2 years as associate account manager or equivalent if internal candidate High competency level in MS Office with specific strengths in Excel and PowerPoint Able to work independently and balance multiple tasks
