PRIMARY ROLE:

The Accounting & Operations Associate works closely with our Finance and Operations departments to ensure business activities run smoothly. They will be responsible for the accounting function of the business, reporting and KPIs, while also administering company software accounts and working on ad hoc projects for other departments. Being a startup there are lots of growth opportunities for this individual to grow with the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage month-end close process including posting and processing of journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.

  • Independently manage accounts payable and issue payments weekly.

  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices in a timely manner.

  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

  • Responsible for operations KPI reporting and analytics.

  • Reconcile bank statement and balance sheet accounts. Reconciles discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures

  • Administrator for company software, email accounts and manage company assets.

  • Cross-departmental special projects as needed in order to improve business analytics, reporting, and efficiency.

  • Ad hoc reporting and projects and back-up for office management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting, finance or operations.

  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced work environment.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for procedural improvement and increased efficiency.

  • Identify accounting issues and clearly communicate them in a timely manner.

  • Self-driven and willingness to learn new things and take on additional responsibilities as needed

  • Passion for the start-up environment, being hands on and making a big impact
