About the Team

Application Operations provides technical troubleshooting for employees, supports internal tools, advocates for data integrity, and drives solutions for the business. We are looking for a problem solver, for someone who can identify trends, prioritize efficiently, and communicate clearly. Application Support Engineers can confidently navigate the Trunk Club tech stack, own high priority investigations, identify root causes, and stay cool under pressure. 

Responsibilities

  • Build software tools 
  • Automate second tier support tasks
  • Monitor queues, maintain SLAs, own root cause analysis 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Handle company-wide communications during emergencies
  • Provide support for the Trunk Club application environment
  • Lead triage for issues originating across the business
  • Perform manual regression testing and bug documentation

Requirements

  • Familiarity with at least one common scripting language such as Ruby or Javascript
  • Experience developing web applications (in any language – Ruby/Rails experience a plus)
  • A mastery of debugging and reading logs; using tools such as Splunk, Kibana or SSH/cURL
  • Previous support work with transactional environments
  • Understanding of Git and common TDD practices
  • Positive communication skills and ability to provide professional and constructive feedback
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting a large scale web application environment
  • Solid understanding of Computer Science and web protocols
  • Experience with relational databases such as Postgres
  • Experience with Voice of the Customer
  • Familiar with JIRA and Slack
