Associate Legal Counsel

As PowerReviews Associate Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expertise to the company on multiple issues including contractual, privacy, regulatory, employment, and financial issues. You will have an immediate impact on the company’s continuing growth and success both domestically and internationally. Your interest should focus within the area of corporate and business law including handling a variety of issues and tasks including sales, contracts, intellectual property, privacy and corporate governance issues. This position will report to the General Counsel.
Key Accountabilities
Provide advice and counsel on a broad range of legal and strategic issues
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts
Provide counsel to align contract templates, positions, and processes with business strategy
Review any and all copy including brochures, ads, and external-facing collateral
Stay up-to-speed on federal and state regulations governing the technology industry in general and PowerReviews in particular
Develop expertise regarding privacy and data protection law and issues, nationally and internationally
Anticipate and minimize legal exposures
Assist General Counsel in developing and implementing policies and procedures
Manage outside legal counsel
Stay up-to-date on the latest applicable law
Partner with the General Counsel to support the needs of PowerReviews’ growing operations
Provide support in other legal matters or company policies and issues as needed.
Requirements & Preferred Skills/Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from accredited ABA school
Admission to the Illinois Bar
0-2+ years of post-graduate experience
Strong academic record
Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
Experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements
Posess strong problem solving and project management skills as well as a strong business sense
Solution-oriented mindset to tackling projects
Demonstrate practical approach to help the company meet its business objectives
Manage time sensitive requests and materials in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively and interact with all levels of personnel across the organization
Ability to deal with rapidly changing priorities in an organized and efficient manner
Ability to understand PowerReviews technology
