The Commission Accounting Analyst will assist the Manager of Marketplace Commissions and Analytics in key areas of insurance commission payments. This role is responsible for analyzing, processing and managing several critical pieces of insurance commission payments to agents and partners. This individual is also responsible for developing other organizational controls, such as quality control measures and creating an improved and more efficient commission payment process.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage new business and renewal commissions for carrier partners
- Manage chargebacks, commission statements, and ledger review
- Assist in automation and enhancement initiatives for commission processing
- Respond to commission-related inquiries from both staff and agents
- Produce and maintain an inventory of standard reports and commission audits
- Lead projects to create new reports, data models, and information tools based on business needs
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for commission processing
- Assist with balancing carrier commission payments with custom electronic statements and monthly commission tracking
- Build commission payment schedules which adhere to client commitments and company margin goals and update respective schedules as necessary
- Support the Marketplace Business Unit in the expansion of GoHealth carrier relationships
- Communicate with key clients
- Present analyses and reports to company executives
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, including expert level Excel skills
- Accounting or Finance degree is preferred, but not required
- High attention to detail and data integrity, consistently pursuing quality in accomplishing tasks and ensuring that work product is 100% accurate
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Strong analytic mindset and ability to find create solutions for problems and issues
- Excellent communication skills are needed in order to present findings and translate data into an understandable document or presentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, where prioritization is necessary
- Self-starter, often taking initiative before being asked
