Content Marketing Strategist

The Content Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing, managing and executing a content marketing strategy and plan for the organization. Specific responsibilities include developing a plan, creating new content and also packaging existing content to support the company’s brand strategy and strategic objectives. The position will collaborate closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts across many areas of the organization, including Production, Product Development, Client Experience and Research.

  • Work closely with the Vice President of Marketing to develop a content marketing plan that aligns with the organization’s brand and message strategy and the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Work with subject matter experts in key areas to uncover opportunities for Emmi to establish thought-leadership on topics that matter to our buyers and also map to relevant solutions features and benefits.
  • Scope, design, develop and deliver content in many formats including white papers, webinar and conference presentations, case studies, blog posts, byline articles, etc.
  • Develop plans to promote and disseminate content; collaborate with the marketing team and other stakeholders to execute plans to package and distribute across multiple channels including live, social, webinars, media placements, email, website,etc.
  • Possess a deep understanding of trends and topics that are most relevant, newsworthy and important to our buyers.
  • Work closely with creative manager to develop innovative visuals to tell complex stories.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing content through quantitative web-based measurement and qualitative feedback from stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Client Experience team to align content strategy with client engagement strategy; work to identify client testimonials and clients who are willing to support and tell Emmi’s story.
  • Work with Research to help drive the development of new case studies, package existing case studies into a more compelling format and also compile and package published research.
  • Manage vendors, freelance support and, in some cases, internal teams.
  • Write and / or create content.

The ability to capture and synthesize multiple opinions and insights into content that aligns with strategic business objectives will be critical to success in this role.  This position will require the ability to both create and also manage the development of content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8-10 years of experience in marketing, journalism or related field.
  • Solid understanding of marketing, sales and business processes.
  • B2B healthcare experience, with specific understanding of current industry trends and dynamics affecting hospitals and health systems.
  • Excellent listening, written communication, and oral presentation skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, build credibility and engender trust across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong working knowledge and abilities in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and visual skills—proven ability to tell compelling written and visual stories.
  • Proven ability in developing content in a variety of formats, including managing the development of other types of content including videos and podcasts.
  • Experience creating and also managing the development of content.
  • Attention to detail; committed to demonstrating quality in every task no matter how big or small.

Preferred

  • Content marketing experience including a portfolio of recent work.
  • Command of basic project management, quality assurance and approval processes.
