About the Opportunity:
As an Insights Analyst in the Marketing organization, you will work closely with the public relations team to cultivate data to support storytelling in the media. To do so, you will help to transform our data into compelling trends and insights of interest to national and local media outlets.
Some Challenges You’ll Tackle:
- Develop a deep familiarity with a myriad of data sources including operational databases, big data platforms, messaging frameworks, internal tools, and external integrations
- Identify and document the business logic required to clean, normalize, and model disparate source data into a conformed and dimensional representation of our business
- Understand the complex lineage of our data end-to-end; from source systems, to the data warehouse and data marts, all the way down to analytic products and constituent business metrics
- Take ownership of our data and constantly improve its quality and integrity; proactively identify data quality issues at every step and coordinate the implementation of required fixes and QA validations
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their unique analytic requirements and assist in the development of metrics, reports, dashboards, visualizations and the design of schemas and data flows to enable them
- Uncover insights on the eating habits of our diners and segment those insights
- Marry our internal data with external sources to identify correlations between food ordering and other behaviors and events
- Use our data to solidify or confirm trending topics surrounding food
You Should Have:
- 5+ years experience analyzing and manipulating complex, large-volume data from a wide-range of production systems and data platforms
- Very strong SQL skills!
- Experience with a variety of data modeling techniques, with an emphasis on dimensional star schemas
- Experience working with a variety of reporting and analytic platforms and tools (Tableau strongly preferred)
- Strong quality assurance and business focus with keen attention to detail and good documentation habits
- Familiarity with string manipulation via Regex (Regular Expressions)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable clear and concise communication of data concepts and issues to both business users and engineers

- Data modeling experience for Cassandra or other NoSQL column-stores)
- Conceptual, non-technical understanding/familiarity with big data pipelines and flows
- Experience with python or scala for sourcing, manipulating, and analyzing data
- Experience working with big data e.g. Hadoop/Hive/Spark
- Familiarity with statistical concepts, Confidence Intervals, Z-Tests, T-Tests, Pearson Correlations, etc.
- Experience with importing external data sources via API or Web-Scraping
