What You'll Do:
As a Design Researcher, you will be responsible for capturing target audience insights to enable the creation of high-quality, user-centric interactive products. You will work collaboratively with Interaction Designers and Visual Designers, as well as the strategy, product and technology teams, to help build a platform that supports workflows across multiple industry verticals.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule and carry out design research activities
- Conduct ethnographic research on-site
- Conduct in-person or remote end-user interviews and usability sessions
- Synthesize research to create personas, workflows, customer journey maps and other artifacts to create empathy for users
- Communicate with cross-functional teams, advocating for user experience best practices and evangelizing user centered design
- Make timely, informed decisions that take into account the facts, goals, constraints and risks of a project or task
- Manage multiple priorities, working through rapid iterations, and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Accurately assess and estimate work
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (with master’s degree preferred) in human computer interaction, anthropology or other relevant degree program, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years real-world experience working with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience working within a user centered design process and capturing user findings to enable best-in-class user experiences
- Demonstrated command of design research principles, especially around workflows, information hierarchy and data visualization
- Experience with quantitative research methods
- Experience researching in complex industries to guide web based applications, tools and systems
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Experience researching interactions with physical devices
- Experience moderating usability tests, end-user interviews, contextual inquiries, card sorting and creating experience maps
- Ability to weigh the strengths and shortcomings of different design research methods
- Highly motivated and organized

- Articulate and clear in communicating process and decisions
