We are seeking an experienced, high-energy person to join our DevOps team. This person will handle application deployments of our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud-based Payroll and HR products across multiple development, staging and production environments. The job responsibilities include developing and executing deployment scripts/processes while troubleshooting application or environment issues and remediating them. He or she will act as a liaison between many teams, particularly with software development and operations, to coordinate implementing new applications, upgrading existing applications or building out new automated processes to better support software development teams. Members in this role support all aspects of the software development process including continuous integration platforms, source control, automated tests and release management.

A successful candidate would be technically proficient, detail oriented, and able to lead by example. He or she would be able to delegate responsibilities between self and team. The candidate needs to balance long term projects with daily duties.

Required Experience:
  1. College degree or comparable experience required
  2. 5+ years of experience in Windows operating system/platforms hopefully in a virtualized environment
  3. Knowledge in one or more of the following technologies - ASP.NET/MVC/IIS/SQL Server/PowerShell - is required
  4. Experienced in application deployment processes and various supporting tools
  5. Knowledge and or experience using and managing source control systems such as TFS or Git
  6. Knowledge and or experience administrating and use of continuous integration platforms such as TeamCity
  7. Ability to troubleshoot deployment and configuration issues and applying solutions
  8. Understanding of firewalls, load balancers, and networking concepts is a plus
  9. Able to work on off hours and weekends as the need arise (such as Production release)
  10. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  11. Analyze current processes and procedures to seek improvements.
  12. Evaluate emerging automation technologies and their potential applications.
  13. Maintain a positive working relationship with peers, and management.

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 3 years in a technical or IT related field
  • College degree or comparable experience required.
  • Relative industry certifications such as Microsoft and/or Cisco is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about current technology and application techniques.

  • Project management skills are a plus

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to present to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
