Sertifi is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer interested in improving the experience of a large-scale SaaS web application. You will work closely with the technology and operations teams to help us plan, deploy, monitor, and scale our infrastructure to cloud hosting environments.

This is a full-time position and the candidate should be able to work out of our downtown Chicago office. We are conveniently located in River North close to public transit.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Education – A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Science or related discipline. Equivalent experience in the industry accepted.
- Server Administration – Strong background in Windows or Linux administration. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always available service. Understanding of highly scalable micro services architecture is a plus.
- Programming /scripting language proficiency – Proficiency with scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, C#, or Java. Ability to create scripts to automate deployment and configuration tasks.
- Build servers – Understanding of build servers such as TeamCity, Bamboo, or Jenkins.
- API experience - You will need to be familiar with accessing platform and program APIs and can leverage other technologies to create faster and more stable environments.
- Source control – Experience utilizing distributed source control such as Git or Mercurial.
Ideal candidate
We are looking for someone that can help us transition our custom application to run on public and private cloud infrastructure, so experience with Amazon Web Services or Azure are preferred. Our current staff is small and thus you must be very self-sufficient. You must be able to fully understand the ins and outs of web application environments, our application, how it works, and can pick up a book or online tutorial and teach yourself when something unknown comes your way.
