GGP has an immediate need for a Digital UX Designer at our Corporate Office in Chicago, IL.

Position Summary:

 

This position is expected to conceptualize innovative and effective website, mobile app and in-mall digital user experiences that support the achievement of visitor goals and business objectives. Designs should be rooted in UX best practices and follow brand style guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize and design UX and UI for web, native app, and in-mall digital experiences, guided by an understanding of current design trends and user experience best practices;
  • Translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements;
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes (using Axure, Invision, or other tools) and requirements based upon usability principals, standards and research;
  • Collaborate on user experience planning with other designers, developers, business analysts, digital and marketing managers;
  • Recommend improvements to enhance user experience based on feedback, usability principles and established standards;
  • Create user personas, journey maps and use cases for each audience persona to inform digital experience design and development;
  • Design the UI elements of applications and features, and ensure cohesion across our digital experiences;
  • Present work in an open-feedback environment;
  • Integrate web site analytics, user research, and persona definitions to inform web and design requirements and process;
  • Research and understand the latest user interaction and design trends;
  • Execute interaction design and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Manage and prioritize work effectively to ensure internal deadlines and approvals are met;
  • Participate in quality assurance and user acceptance testing; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

    • Undergraduate college degree or equivalent experience
    •  
    • Academic background in graphic design, human factors, human computer interaction and/or user experience related fields, or equivalent experience.
    • 3 - 5 years of UX/UI design experience for web and/or mobile applications
    • Experience with wireframing/prototyping and respective tools (Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent)
    • Experience with user interface design patterns and methodologies.
    • Strong responsive design experience and foundation framework.
    • Experience with user testing and related methodologies/tools
    • Solid experience in the development of typical UX deliverables – user personas, use cases, journey maps, task flows, site architecture, wireframes and prototypes
    • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
    • Solid understanding of mobile web standards and capabilities, as well as responsive design principles
    • Excellent UI design skills and a demonstrable track record of designing interfaces and writing detailed specifications
    • Advanced understanding of typography, composition and color theory
    • Experience working in an Agile environment (strongly preferred)
    • Proactive approach to problem identification and solving
    • Ability to research, understand and organize specialized content
    • Solid knowledge of the production process (optimizing graphics, compression settings and file size and image optimization)
    • Basic understanding of technical and cross platform implications
    • Careful attention to detail and sensitivity to version control issues
    • Ability to build partnerships and effectively establish and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and vendors
    • Ability to provide guidance, mentorship and feedback to other UX team members, as well as lead and participate in creative brainstorm activities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with multi-disciplinary teams

    • Flexibility and adaptability; able to manage shifting priorities as projects evolve

    • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, MS Office, and InVision
