Rise Interactive (http://www.riseinteractive.com), a rapidly growing full service interactive advertising agency, is looking to hire a Director of Development, Customer Experience (CX) also known as Director of Application Development to support the Customer Experience team. We are seeking a detail-oriented, versatile, highly motivated and creative individual that will provide expertise throughout the entire software development process, and that is excited about getting involved in an entrepreneurial company with an expanding Fortune 500 client base.

 

Summary and Scope:

The Director of Development, Customer Experience (CX) is expected to manage all aspects of web and mobile development, including responsive websites, ecommerce websites, iOS & Android apps, data architecture engineering capabilities, and coaching/mentoring for Rise Interactive’s Customer Experience team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure flawless execution of all deliverables used in the discovery and delivery of all web, ecommerce, and mobile engagements
  • Ensure projects are delivered on strategy, on time, and within budget
  • Anticipate and address client needs and challenges; plan and develop integrated programs that exceed client objectives
  • Collaborate with project management to ensure staff capacity and timelines are properly managed, communicated, and executed upon
  • In collaboration with project managers, ensure project risks are proactively mitigated and managed appropriately
  • Encourage and lead collaboration between channel leaders, project management, UX, design, and account management to play a critical leadership role in defining technical strategy and architecture to deliver exceptional web and mobile experiences
  • Working in collaboration with channel leaders, provide estimation, timeline & cost inputs to help build project budgets
  • Management of senior technologists including goal setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring the team’s skills, certifications, and capabilities are kept up to date through the development of training and development programs
  • Hands on responsibilities spanning across all aspects of software development including architecture, design, agile & waterfall development, automation, release & configuration management
  • Establish and evolve a library of reusable components, software extensions, and automated processes that give Rise an edge in delivery of web, ecommerce & mobile applications
  • Identify and collaborate with Rise’s Global Partnership team to pursue new technology partnerships that may drive incremental revenue for Rise
  • Drive the creation and evolution of automated testing frameworks that reduce QA cycles and increase team velocity

 

Required Skills:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent
  • 5-7 years of senior leadership experience in software architecture, design and development of diverse, enterprise-scale web and mobile implementation projects, using latest technologies
  • Proven experience building responsive web applications, SOA-style business/technology services, REST APIs
  • Cannot contemplate software delivery without Source Control, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools and has the know-how to put this into effect
  • Strong hands on development experience with C# / JAVA / Objective C or similar server-side and mobile development languages, and strong familiarity with well known JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Bootstrap, etc.
  • Strong experience as a software architect building high volume consumer facing web, ecommerce and/or mobile applications at massive scale
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including client-facing presentation and communication skills
  • Experience managing a large scale team within web/mobile development
  • Passion for continuous learning in web, ecommerce, mobile, and software delivery technologies
  • Solid understanding of OOP/OOD (Object Oriented Programming and Design)
  • Solid understanding of Design Patterns
  • Solid understanding of RESTful SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) principles and best practices
  • SQL (MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL)
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure, build and release management and configuration management
  • Knowledge of QA, automated testing, and testing frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop and retain top technical talent
  • Ability to manage any outsourcing relationships related to web, ecommerce, and mobile development
  • Ability to coach engineering leads on architecting for scale (web, mobile, API, microservices)
  • Experience with shipping both Android and iOS apps
  • Ability to grow the mobile development organization and be responsible for its overall structure
