At Giftbar, we call on high-end boutiques, salons, spas, restaurants and service companies to utilize our unique digital gifting technology and marketing platform.  As Director of Digital Marketing, you'll have the opportunity to lead our marketing efforts big and small - and have a truly significant impact on our business.

The company has been well funded from prominent investors and includes proven founders from the Chicago area.

We’re looking for a confident and talented digital marketer, with experience setting up and running SEO, paid search and affiliate programs, as well as all areas of social media marketing, email marketing and retargeting campaigns.  The right candidate will have a keen sense of the data and metrics that a new company needs to continue to propel growth. The right candidate will also have contacts within the industry and a good sense of how to set up a marketing department around them and run a team focused on customer acquisition and retention. A collaborative mindset is a must. The Director of Digital Marketing reports to the CRO. 

Responsibilities:

·    Website Presence: Act as marketing sponsor for website updates/changes/additions for Giftbar and solution microsites.

·    Lead Generation Strategy: Own and drive lead generation strategy for marketing programs and work closely with marketing team and IT to implement strategy.

·    Team Management: Lead digital marketing team with strong technical skills, as well as high levels of organization, industry and product knowledge. Continue to focus the team toward being more data-driven, analytical, and focused on ROI.

·    SEO/SEM Strategy: Work with agency partners to devise and continuously improve SEO/SEM

·    Marketing Automation Strategy:  Work with HubSpot to deploy custom, tailored outbound and inbound campaigns. Drive lead generation for new business revenue and cross-sell campaigns through the email channel.

·    External Partner Management: Day-to-day vendor management and oversight of costs.

·    Reporting/Marketing Analytics: Own all marketing analytics/reporting and continue to develop and drive regular reporting initiatives underway showing the effectiveness of our digital marketing, social media and communications initiatives underway.

·    Content Marketing: Utilize reporting/analytics and help to define and drive plans for content marketing assets such as blogs, email campaigns, infographics, etc.

·    Marketing Technology: Own strategy and drive improvements for marketing automation platforms (HubSpot).

·    Quality of Work: Ensure a high quality of work for the entire team - demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor own work to ensure quality

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

·   Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing, communication, or related area

·     5-6 years’ marketing experience

·     2-3 years’ management experience

·     Strong leadership skills, ability to perform under pressure and optimize the team’s resources to attain the business goals

·     Strong people and project management skills

·     Personal drive to work with teams and partnering skills for collaboration with peer groups

·     Demonstrated ability to make good organizational decisions, solve complex problems, and think independently

·     Passion for results and data-driven decision-making in the digital marketing field

·     Strong attention to detail, keen focus on quality and ability to proof/edit marketing/product content

·     Experience working with content management systems directly and managing someone working in a CMS

·     Experience working in HTML5 and CSS3; basic JavaScript knowledge a plus

·     Deep understanding of Google Analytics and other digital marketing analytics systems

·     Experience working with project management software to manage short term projects

·     Knowledge of social media and online reputation management a plus

·     Sense of ownership for all work produced by teams under guidance/management

·     Experience managing SEO/SEM, database, email, social media, and digital advertising campaigns
