The company recently expanded into the United States after filling its Series A funding round in March 2017.

This opportunity will provide a very strong jump-start to any student seeking to enter the competitive world of business and financial journalism. The student will have multiple print and online stories and will have access to a wide network of industry participants in the global agribusiness space.

This company has moved beyond the startup stage and is now a growing force that is building its credibility in the thought leadership space. This is a unique opportunity to boost your influence in the business journalism sector. The small staff includes award-winning editors and former hedge fund analysts and consultants who have a keen understanding of the global commodity markets.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with veteran financial journalists, pitch story ideas
  • Write and edit original content for online channels
  • Curate, schedule and edit contributed editorial as well as sponsored content
  • Research and fact checking, CMS posting and headline writing
  • Participating in weekly content, help with production of the monthly print publication
  • Participate in the development, execution and maintenance of a social media strategy
  • Post and interact on all social media platforms and track and report on social media statistics.
  • Learn each day about how markets operate and capital goods flow.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate from a journalism, agriculture or economics program
  • Must be based within the Chicago area

Time Commitment

  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Opportunity to work remotely depending on content schedule
  • Occasional early-bird or late-night requests that will be discussed well in advance
