Position Description:

As an international software company with an exciting new brand to market, Computhink has a thirst for exciting marketing and a passion for trying new things. We’re looking for a part-time intern to start immediately in our suburban Lombard, Illinois location. The best Graphic Design Intern will assist our marketing team with the day-to-day graphic needs associated with a first-rate software company at the forefront of marketing. This is an ongoing, paid internship that provides real-world experience, as well as the opportunity for college credit. That’s right; we will pay you and fill out the necessary paperwork so you get course credit, just to be awesome in Photoshop and Illustrator for us.

If you’re diligent, detail orientated, and willing to take initiative, then you’re off to a good start. Our ideal Graphic Design Intern will show an interest in lean marketing and want create new exciting designs that are cutting edge and developed with the best of today’s standards. And infographics. We want lots of infographics.

The Graphic Design Intern will answer the needs of the marketing team and chip in when the product development team needs an image here and there. It’ll be fun, we promise. Oh, and it’s paid experience.

And yes, we’re very open to hiring someone full-time who proves they’re awesome.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with marketing team to set graphic design standard and schedule
  • Plans concept by studying information and materials.
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
  • Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors.
  • Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
  • Makes wicked designs
  • Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Skilled in Photoshop
  • Experienced in Illustrator
  • Understood best practices in graphic design
  • Designs for web and print
  • Great sense of humor and wit
  • Skilled in layout
  • No slackers
  • Knowledge of InDesign a plus
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and manage time-sensitive, detailed-oriented, multi-faceted projects
  • Work double-checker
  • Really, no slackers

Internship Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Internship Credit: Offered, managed between student and school
Internship Level: Paid
