Graphic Designer
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
VelocityEHS is seeking a Graphic Designer for its Marketing Communications Department to help conceptualize, design, and create compelling print and Web content that reflects and serves VelocityEHS’ larger strategic goals, messaging and brand objectives. The preferred candidate should have an excellent understanding of visual design principles and be able to take abstract ideas and complex business information and present it in a captivating, easy-to-comprehend manner.
This is a fast-paced creative role, requiring impeccable design skills, great attention to detail and affability to create designs that satisfy the varying needs of employees, clients, partners and other contacts. As a member the VelocityEHS Marketing Communications Department, the Graphic Designer will be expected to work with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as key contacts outside the company, to ensure the flawless creation of a diverse range of communication content, including but not limited to, the following: infographics, emails, article illustrations, landing pages, sell sheets, brochures, and tradeshow signage. This individual will be responsible for assuring brand consistency and the timely coordination and delivery of all assigned projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARENT LIMITED TO:
- Design content that appeals to defined targeted audiences
- Be prepared to create original layouts, templates, illustrations and graphics, as well as modify and improve upon existing content
- Collaborate with cross departmental groups to complete project requests
- Serve as a brand-standard steward for all projects
- Support the maintenance and development of print and electronic content libraries
- Assist with the creation, publication, modification, coordination, distribution and archiving of artwork files
- Complete various other tasks as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Minimum Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related field, or demonstrated experience
- Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign
- Expert understanding and use of typographic principles
- Excellent information-design skills, comfortable creating charts, graphs, and infographics
- Ability to creatively illustrate abstract business concepts
- Adept at maintaining a highly organized and easily accessible asset library
- Strong critical thinking skills with a great attention to detail
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with HTML and CSS
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Knowledge of Web standards and responsive design principles
- Ability to create and edit short animations and videos
