Job Description

The Group Experience Director plays a critical leadership role across the Design & Strategy disciplines at Rightpoint. As a practice lead for UX, you have mastered the user-centered design process, and will oversee a growing team of seasoned UX designers and researchers across multiple offices and regions. You will partner closely with the heads of Content, Visual Design, and Strategy across our national network to define the what, how and why for our Design & Strategy team. And you’ll be key partner to our clients to develop projects and accounts.     

 

We’re looking for a proven track record of innovative thinking for complex problems in multiple areas: marketing, applications, mobile, omni-channel commerce, or other digital products. But it’s not just about smart thinking – it’s showing that you know how to carry a project all the way through from pitch to launch.  

 

Things you’ll do

 

Your responsibilities will broadly cover team management and growth, business development, project delivery, and process definition. The Group Experience Director we’re looking for will:

  • Advocate for the UX research and design process within projects and within Rightpoint
  • Judge work for quality, critique it, and know how to approach team members at every level to coax great work out of them
  • Approach problems thoughtfully and energetically, with an eye inspiring teams and clients to create and build new solutions
  • Develop cross-discipline approaches to work and BD that will lead the team to success, advance the practice, and grow the company
  • Drive team growth—for individuals on a personal and professional level, and for the team through recruiting and practice definition (methods, protocols, process)
  • Raise the profile of Rightpoint in the industry through thought leadership and participation in events that connect the team to the community
  • Focus on contributing to an award-winning portfolio of work

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in related area, or Masters Degree in related area preferred, or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • 12+ years’ experience in a combination of both the Design and User Experience industries.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role in a Digital Agency Environment.
  • Strong experience design skills with an expert level of understanding of modern tools and techniques
  • Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills
  • Superior communication, time-management, and client/relationship management skills
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities and demonstrated success in leading teams in executing established strategies
  • Experience in commerce or transactional digital experiences with large B2B clients preferred
  • Must be a team player with a willingness to help and learn in order to foster an environment of team growth
