ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Head of User Experience to lead the concept and design of our next generation consumer and enterprise value propositions centered around personalized discovery and shopping convenience.  You will lead a team of visual designers, interactive designers and user researchers to define innovative solutions across the web, mobile web and apps for both our consumers and our retail partners.  You must have a passion for prototyping, research, online shopping and e-commerce to thrive at this role.

ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO  

• Mentor and lead a team of visual designers, interactive designers and user researchers
• Ideate and prototype approaches to what ShopRunner can be for our members and our retailers
• Be the voice of our customers, deeply understanding the problems we are solving for our customers and how well our solutions meet those needs
• Define processes to effectively handle incoming requests, while preserving the space for creativity and autonomy
• Implement common, responsive and consistent experiences, patterns, frameworks and style guides across the ShopRunner properties

ABOUT WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

• An obsession with customer research, psychology and behavior
• Ability to audit and develop compelling user experiences
• In-depth knowledge of how to represent and communicate the customer journey (personas, jobs to be done, user scenarios/stories, storyboards/sketches, process maps, wireframes, etc.)
• Track record of prototyping and launching impactful v1 products from concept to delivery
• History of conducting usability studies and user research is a big plus
• Application of lean/agile product development methodologies -- identifying value, defining hypotheses and measuring experiments
• Prior experience leading a team of designers and working with product managers and developers in an agile environment
• Ability to prototype in HTML, Javascript and CSS is a plus
• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with peers and senior management
• Deep knowledge of of responsive techniques and the device landscape
• Entrepreneurial mindset and bias toward action
• 8+ years of experience as a visual or interaction designer
• A Bachelors degree in interaction design, HCI or related UX degree is ideal
