About The Position
The Security Engineer II is responsible for protecting the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of Raise information assets. This position will support the execution of the Information Security program at Raise. In particular, this role will focus on driving the design, implementation, and maintenance of security technology and program functions for the products and services related to Raise.
Responsibilities
- Act as a consultant to internal engineering teams, enabling them to build and design products securely
- Perform security reviews of new and existing products and services
- Ensure the health and security posture of internal network architectures
- Triage reports from external researchers; drive confirmed issues to resolution with engineering teams
- Participate in incident handling
- Provide training to engineering teams on security related topics
- Design, build, and implement security frameworks to improve security posture across the organization
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of combined experience in information security, technology and risk management that must include experience with Internet technology and security issues
- Must be passionate about technology and information security
- Must have extensive knowledge of current and upcoming IT security technologies and techniques that cover all levels of IT architecture, including those that affect business processes, data, applications, and network systems and infrastructure
- Must understand application security concepts, such as the OWASP top 10 and be able to articulate them to technical and non-technical staff
- Possess an understanding of vulnerability management across operating systems, databases, and applications and is able to communicate remediation suggestions to technical staff
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity principles and practices
- Experience in TCP/IP networking, firewalls and virtual private networks (VPN)
- Must have a good understanding of current encryption standards and their implementation
- Experience with a broad range of relevant systems platforms that include Windows, Unix, Exchange, Oracle and MySQL
- Ability to weigh business risks and enforce appropriate IT security measures while maintaining the speed of delivery that is inherent in a fast-paced technology company
- B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Information Management, or relevant field
- CISSP is a plus
