Edovo, a Jail Educations Solutions company, is a digital education company dedicated to changing the way corrections is done today. Our technology platform transforms rehabilitation and inmate service models nationally. Edovo serves incarcerated individuals in correctional facilities across the US with educational, vocational, and enriching content in an incentivized model, as well as managed information services via a securely connected devices.

This position will be responsible for deploying and supporting the systems that operate our educational platform. You will be tasked with full deployment and support responsibilities as they relate to the technical operations of Edovo products.

Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and interpersonal and intrapersonal communications skills. Applicants must be comfortable interacting with all members of the Edovo Team, Edovo Partners and Edovo Customers via email, instant message, phone, and in-person conversation.

This position reports directly to the VP of Technology. The company is based in Chicago IL.

Basic Qualifications

 - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, OR equivalent experience in a related field.

- At least one professional IT certification (Network+, Security+, Cisco CCENT, Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, or equivalent)

- At least one year of professional IT experience. 

- Professional experience with Desktop, Mobile, Networked, Distributed, Server and Storage based systems.

- Technology troubleshooting and triage experience including ticketing and documenting issues via ticketing systems / project management systems.

- An extreme desire to discover, learn and work with new and innovative technology, hardware, software and services.

Qualified applicants should have experience with the following:

- General Networking (IPv4 / IPv6)

- General Desktop Applications

- Basic Network Services (DNS, DHCP, NTP)

- 802.11 Wireless Solutions

- Cisco IOS / IOS XE 

- Linux Server Distributions (Ubuntu) 

- Management of Layer 2 Switches (VLAN’s, Trunking, STP, etc)

- General understanding of IP routing

- Experience in Dynamic Routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) a plus but not required

- Experience in VPN Technologies (MPLS, IPsec, GRE, L2TP, SSL) a plus but not required

- Experience with SAN Technologies / Vendors (NFS, iSCSI, Fibrechannel / NetApp, EMC, Nimble) a plus but not required. 

General job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Monitor and correct outages to LAN, WAN, Firewall, and Network Services.

- Ticketing all issues via Desk.com ticketing platform

- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues

- Escalating issues appropriately 

- Setup, install, and configure systems based on documented installation procedures

- Work within and participate in the Change Control process.

- Evaluate and implement vendor hardware and software patches to resolve error conditions and/or maintain systems

- Participate on “on-call” support rotation.

- Provide IT infrastructure support services for Company locations.

- Provide Edovo Sales Associates guidance on technical requirements for site deployments. 

- Assist with installation efforts on Client Sites (Up to 25% Business Travel)

- Assist in weekly and monthly maintenance activities when required. 

- Create and Maintain documentation

- Assist Edovo Staff with technology needs

- Provide detailed feedback to management in order to better overall business process

- Work closely with the VP of Technology to develop, deploy, document and maintain new solutions

- Progress down a guided continued education path including attaining and maintain needed Technical Certifications as defined by the VP of Technology
