About the role:

Uptake ingests data from hundreds of data providers and hundreds of thousands of machines to glean actionable insights from the streams of data.  In this role you will become the subject matter expert for one or more data integration scenarios which will allow us to relate those insights back to our customers. You will assist in designing and implementing our solutions with key business partners as well as assisting in creating operational tooling such as monitoring and alerting. You will work closely with our operations and administrations teams to educate them on system design and supportability, assist with Tier 2 troubleshooting, and gather feedback for system improvements.

Responsibilities:

Candidates should have a solid background in building and maintaining data integration systems, a strong sense of ownership and teamwork, and a desire to build a world class data platform.  As an Integration Engineer, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Implementing and supporting data integrations with key partners


• Owning handoff from implementation teams to production teams for new data ingestion streams


• Assisting production support in creating interactive visualization tools and dashboards


• Building a highly scalable framework for ingesting, transforming, and enhancing data


• Modeling and implementing data schemas based on client input


• Establishing automated build and deployment pipelines

Qualifications:

• Experience with database/backing data structures of one of the following systems:




• DB2


• SAP


• Dynamics


• NAXT


• DBSI


• Infor




• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field


• Strong SQL and data analysis skills


• 3+ years relevant work experience in technology consulting and/or system/data analyst role


• Experience working with relational databases, data requirements, and client system integration


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Possess an investigative mindset, display independent thinking, and have the ability to adapt


• Superb interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships successfully across teams


• Strong project management skills, including a proven ability to think through all aspects of the process, manage long-term projects and multi-task


• Driven self-starter with a passion for excellence and ability to work under minimal supervision

Preferred skills:

We value these qualities, but they’re not required for this role:

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in related field


• Experience with noSQL solutions: Cassandra, HDFS and/or Elasticsearch


• Experience with relational databases, Postgres being the highest preference.


• Experience with Data modeling


• Experience with Docker, Mesos and Marathon


• Experience working with AWS


• Experience with distributed messaging services, preferably Kafka


• Experience with enterprise scheduling tools
